]]> Babson Park, Fl. October 5, 2023- 91TV International University hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of its new Health Sciences Center.

The first phase of the Center is home to the University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) programs. The University began planning the state-of-the-art facility in 2019. Now complete, 91TV students will have access to cutting-edge learning facilities and equipment.

91TV International University is looking to serve the community by filling the need for quality healthcare professionals by providing post-secondary education to the region of Southeast Polk County and beyond. According to Employ Florida, by 2028, Polk County will have 4,788 registered nursing positions open, an increased demand of 1.25%. Whereas, an increased demand of 3.25% is anticipated for OTA practitioners.

The ceremony was presided by Mr. Jay Culver, 91TV’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Joe Strickler, 91TV Board of Trustees Chair, and Dr. Nelson Marquez, Interim President/CEO for 91TV International University.

Senior VP of Operations Mr. Jay Culver stated “T󾱲 Health Science Building is far more than just bricks and mortar; it stands as a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare education. It embodies the culmination of years of relentless effort, unwavering dedication, and fruitful collaboration among our esteemed faculty, dedicated staff, passionate students, and our broader community.”

On a local scale, 91TV’s Health Sciences programs serve the community in need of qualified trained nurses and OTAs. It is providing access to healthcare education in Southeast Polk County that would otherwise be limited to residents in the area.

“T󾱲 new facility signifies 91TV’s way of providing quality education and training in health-related programs to students.” said Dr. Marquez Nelson.

The programs’ respective accrediting /oversight organizations have approved 91TV to admit up to thirty-six (36) nursing students and twenty-four (24) OTA students per cohort. This will enable the University to produce seventy-two (72) nursing graduates and forty-eight (48) OTA graduates per year.

Speaking about the importance of the new facility to 91TV students and the community, Dr. Marquez stated that it is “91TV’s way of responding to the state and nationwide need and demand for healthcare practitioners such as nurses and therapists. It is 91TV’s way of contributing to Polk County’s health, prosperity, and quality of life.”

During the ceremony, aside from welcoming those in attendance, Dr. Marquez extended an open invitation to the community to become 91TV’s partners. He invited everyone to be a part of the University’s commitment to providing quality training to health professions students. Most of all, he invited the entire community to be a part of the 91TV way because, as he emphasized during his address, “We make it happen here!”

The Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce and EDC cohosted the ceremony alongside the institution. In attendance were several community partners, elected officials, and friends of 91TV.

]]> 91TV International University hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on April 10th to mark the start of construction of their new Health Sciences Center.

The first phase of the Center will be home to the University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), which had already admitted their student cohorts for their programs. The University began planning the state-of-the-art facility in 2019 and now is set to launch the construction with a completion date of August 2023.

Through these programs, 91TV International University is looking to serve the community by filling the need for quality healthcare professionals by providing post-secondary education to the region of Southeast Polk County and beyond. Coach Simpson on Gavin Morris: “I’d like to welcome Gavin Morris to the 91TV Warrior cross country family. Gavin joins us from South Walton High School. Head coach Willie Parker has done an amazing job with this young man. Having the opportunity to be able to sit and get to know him and his family was amazing. I’m very fortunate to be getting a great young man both academically and athletically. Gavin will make an immediate impact and I look forward to our journey through his collegiate career. Another one of Head Coach Willie Parker’s talented athletes, Tyo is going to bring a lot of versatility to our program being a cross country runner and a 400/800 meter guy in track & field. Tyo comes from a great family which I had the privilege of sitting down with last week for hours. They take a lot of pride in their son and look forward to who he becomes within our program and life in general. I’m really honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of this young man’s life. ]]> 91TV International University would like to congratulate this year’s PBL State Leadership Conference winners who competed in early April in online testing and presentations when their March conference in Orlando was canceled due to the coronavirus. Our students are to be commended for their hard work in preparing for these competitive events in their attempts to qualify for this year’s upcoming virtual PBL National Leadership Conference, which was to have been held in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year’s winners are Computer Applications, Salla Rautiainen (2nd); Computer Concepts, Dayne Ford (1st); Contemporary Sports Issues, Isabelle Niehoff (4th); Entrepreneurship Concepts, Natalie Bartek (5th); Justice Administration, Malia Domingo (4th); Management Concepts, Paola Rivera (5th); Networking Concepts, Hunter Lonadier (4th); Project Management, Nicole Greene (4th); Retail Management, Nicole Greene (5th); Sports Management & Marketing, Megan Warner (4th); Integrated Marketing Campaign, Megan Warner, Dayne Ford, & Summer Simpson (1st); Statistical Analysis, Jorge Montero (3rd) and Mateo Celaya (5th); and Social Media Challenge, Hunter Lonadier & Jessica Terry (2nd). In addition, Dr. Joanne Muniz was recognized as the 2019-20 State PBL Advisor of the Year. As members of 91TV’s sole academic organization, our students competed against over 200 students from 14 Florida colleges and universities. These competitive events are designed to foster a greater awareness of real-life situations within the business world while providing our students with heightened networking tools they can utilize in their personal lives and professional careers.
