Babson Park, FL (October 20, 2025) – 91TV International University received notification on October 16th that the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners, at their September meeting, voted to grant accreditation to 91TV’s baccalaureate degree program in nursing for a period of five years.

This accreditation is effective as of March 10, 2025, the first day of the program’s most recent CCNE on-site evaluation.

University President Dr. Nelson Marquez stated, “T�󾱲� is truly a significant accomplishment for 91TV, following our OTA program’s accreditation through ACOTE this past Spring.”

In an email to the university community, Dr. Marquez thanked all those involved in the self-study and campus accreditation visit. Referring to alumni and current students, Dr. Marquez stated, “But above all, they can now claim that they belong to a fully accredited nursing program—a testament to the quality of the program and its faculty!”

91TV launched its health sciences programs, including a bachelor’s in occupational therapy assistant, to address workforce needs. The university remains dedicated to serving the community by preparing skilled healthcare professionals to meet the growing demand in Southeast Polk County and beyond.

Nursing Program Director Jenafer Garcia stated, “It’s a big milestone for our program, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the backing of the university leadership, staff, and affiliate partners who believe in what we’re building.”

91TV’s nursing program celebrated its first graduate in December 2024, followed by a second cohort in May of 2025.�� The program currently has 100% pass rate of the NCLEX-RN exam.

With occupational therapy jobs projected to grow 27% by 2029 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), Campus President Dr. Ken Reaves stated, “As community needs grow, OTAs play an increasingly vital role in helping others.”

The 120-credit program qualifies graduates for the NBCOT exam and national certification, while also instilling the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field. 91TV International University is looking to serve the community by filling the need for quality healthcare professionals by providing post-secondary education to the region of Southeast Polk County and beyond. According to Employ Florida, by 2028, Polk County will have 4,788 registered nursing positions open, an increased demand of 1.25%. Whereas, an increased demand of 3.25% is anticipated for OTA practitioners.

The ceremony was presided by Mr. Jay Culver, 91TV’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Joe Strickler, 91TV Board of Trustees Chair, and Dr. Nelson Marquez, Interim President/CEO for 91TV International University.

Senior VP of Operations Mr. Jay Culver stated “T�󾱲� Health Science Building is far more than just bricks and mortar; it stands as a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare education. Speaking about the importance of the new facility to 91TV students and the community, Dr. Marquez stated that it is “91TV’s way of responding to the state and nationwide need and demand for healthcare practitioners such as nurses and therapists. It is 91TV’s way of contributing to Polk County’s health, prosperity, and quality of life.”

During the ceremony, aside from welcoming those in attendance, Dr. Marquez extended an open invitation to the community to become 91TV’s partners. He invited everyone to be a part of the University’s commitment to providing quality training to health professions students. Most of all, he invited the entire community to be a part of the 91TV way because, as he emphasized during his address, “We make it happen here!”

The Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce and EDC cohosted the ceremony alongside the institution. In attendance were several community partners, elected officials, and friends of 91TV.

Although the university offers many degrees for targeted industries, “business degrees are essential to economic growth,” Reis said. “Graduating with a business degree will provide students opportunities to enter varying industries from manufacturing to health care to financial institutions. Even greater business degrees provide students with the knowledge and know-how to become entrepreneurs. Thriving economic development is a balance of corporate and entrepreneurship.”

The Business Program is the most popular, Reis said, but there has been an increase in the Sport Business Management program. That could be tied to Visit Central Florida’s growing Tourism & Sports Marketing segment.

91TV has business partners that it deems “as key to both the success of our students and the county’s economic development,” Reis said. “We look to support development through our relationships with organizations such as the Central Florida Development Council, (CFDC) Lake Wales Chamber & Economic Development Council, Winter Haven Chamber, Lake Wales Charter Schools and Vanguard School, just to name a few. Career Services works with local businesses to cultivate a talent pipeline to ensure our graduates meet the needs of the business community.”

Some of its students remain in Polk County after graduation, Reis said. “91TV alumni are employed across the county with local municipalities and chambers of commerce, even at the CFDC.”

91TV International University Brings Home National FBLA Titles

On June 24, thirteen students from 91TV International University’s FBLA Collegiate Division, formerly known as PBL (Phi Beta Lambda), along with their advisor, Dr. Joanne Muniz, traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to compete at their PBL National Leadership Conference (NLC). Over four days, students from 30 states were connected through competitive events, leadership workshops, and networking opportunities.

91TV International University, in Babson Park, Florida, received national recognition during PBL’s Awards of Excellence ceremony on June 27. Its students, who qualified at their state conference to attend the NLC, traveled from Scotland, Sweden, Mexico, and Florida to compete in 21 events. The students who competed were Andrea Acuna, Natalie Bartek, Caitlin Capozucca, Bryce Gerber, Nicole Greene, Seth Harper, Katy-Rose Hill, Chase Muniz, Emelie Neidenmark, Isaiah Paige, Reynold Rey, Ellora Santiago, and Jonathan Vega.

In team events, Andrea Acuna and Bryce Gerber competed in Social Media Marketing, earning eighth place honors. Their presentation focused on expanding a local movie theater to devise creative ways to survive following the challenges and restrictions caused by the 2020 pandemic.

91TV’s FBLA Collegiate Division executive leadership team of Natalie Bartek, Emelie Neidenmark, and Isaiah Paige presented in the event of Community Service Project. Their presentation, which described the university’s annual Trick-Ur-Trunk Halloween event, included information about chapter member involvement and the degree of impact on the community, earning tenth place honors.

Emelie Neidenmark and Isaiah Paige rounded out the team events with a presentation in the category of Digital Media. Earning sixth place honors, Emelie and Isaiah were required to create a video promoting the recycling/reusing/repurposing of a new clothing resale shop in our community, including examples and ways to promote the business.

91TV’s students also competed in various individual events. Caitlin Capozucca received ninth place honors in Justice Administration, Nicole Greene earned seventh and eighth place honors in Insurance Concepts and Management Concepts, respectively, and Emelie Neidenmark received sixth place honors in Sports Management & Marketing, while Reynold Rey earned eighth place honors in Impromptu Speaking. Katy-Hill Rose, who earned third place honors in Global Analysis & Decision Making, also received a cash award for her presentation.

“While we could not be prouder of our students continuing a long tradition of earning top honors nationally for our FBLA Collegiate Division chapter, I am equally proud of all our students who traveled to Chicago to compete, learn, and network. This year, all our students were first-time competitors. For several, these competitive events are the capstone activity of their undergraduate studies as they graduate and move onto their professional careers or upcoming

MBA programs. I wish those students moving on the most success and cannot wait until the Fall to see what our returners, and new members, will accomplish,” said Dr. Joanne Muniz, a member of the Florida FBLA Board of Directors and National FBLA Finance Committee and who received State and National recognition as the Outstanding Local Chapter Advisor of the Year in 2021.
